I turned my nervous breakdown into a website

Sending Myself to Rehab

Well, I just got off the phone with McLean, and I’m going to one of their rehab centers out in the middle of nowhere for a few weeks.

I had to do a phone “interview” with them to decide if this is the right program for me. The interview went really well, and the man I spoke to was surprisingly cool and friendly. He gave me the whole rundown of the place I’ll be going, and the program and facility sound lovely.

Despite my fears, my hesitations, and the fact it may interfere with my fiance’s visit (let’s just not think about the cost right now lol) I feel relieved to be going, I actually feel some odd kind of excitement that I can’t quite describe because I am still incredibly nervous. I hope this program is beneficial to me and can help me through this.

They need some income verification faxed (seriously? Is it 1988?) and if they can sort everything out tomorrow, I’ll be going in on Friday. They do have wifi, and I can bring my phone and computer so you can still contact me and I will be able to give updates. While they do also allow visits and “check-outs” I will be really far out of the way for pretty much everyone I know and I’d rather have some space to focus on my recovery.

I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and I am going in with high hopes.

… also, I don’t have to cook for myself for a few weeks šŸ‘Œ

Comment Update:

Seriously McLean? You’re rated one of the best hospitals in the country and affiliated with Harvard, yet you use the most outdated technology!?
It took an hour just to get 2 forms back and forth because their fax lines at the main office were busy šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

I get that they have to use fax for HIPAA reasons, but wouldn’t doing things digitally with proper encryption be easier and safer?

Summary: I HATE FAX MACHINES! I also don’t know if the fax delay will delay my intake day, so once again, I HATE FAX MACHINES!
